We can play anything as long as I have my iPad in front of me. I will bring small PA system. All we need is base player and drummer. I can bring snare, seat and sticks. This will be stripped down gig. Anybody can play drums. Just need volunteer with base guitar. I can bring base guitar and amp, too, but would prefer your set up.I can sing but I sound like shit. Better to have drunk volunteers for that too. Post here if you have useable talent to coordinate.

This will be Sat night, right?

This is a great idea! I like this a lot better than hiring a band. This is the kind of shit that will be a ton of fun and great memories are made from.

I say that you guys set up by the flagpole close to the docks. That area is nice and flat and will be far enough away from everything else that we should be good to go. We will need 2 or 3 100' extension cords to run a couple of lines from the boat shack or cafe.

This is going to be epic.

Wish I would have room to bring my gear. But it doesn't look like I will.

The bass drum I have is $$$$ and it's for my father. He has about 14k invested in his drum kit.

Ok, I've got PA covered and bass guitar and amp.

I'd sure like some help with drums locally up there, otherwise I'll bring snare, high hat, one Tom and kick since it seems no one can adapt to just a Snare and high hat.

But I'll emphasize again that it would be better if some one up there or going would bring drums.

Just letting you know there is a good chance tj won't be there on saturday and i am not dealing with you while you are here. Do not ask me for anything, in fact do not even speak to me this weekend. I have enough on my plate already. I'm pretty much going to be running this by myself the way it looks and you are not going to get in my way. Do not follow me around trying to sit next to me, do not wait on me in your boat. Stay the fuck away from me. Hopefully this is clear enough since last year, you apparently missed the memo.

Thanks again to all the folks who've been encouraging this jackass. Don't be surprised when there isnt a big organized run next year...

The person i'm talking to knows. I'm cool with pretty much every single person on this forum, all except one. And that one just so happens to be the one trying his damndest to get involved in the ride i break my fucking back trying to organize. All this work just so the only person on this forum i really hope dies in a fiery car crash on the way up can try to put together a fucking concert...

Tell you what dean, why dont you spend some time worrying about getting more than one person to show up to an event you put together and less time meddling in mine?

I don't guess there's a place for a fire is it? You can't beat cold beer around a fire listening to a guitar.

Post subject:  Live music soliciting volunteer base and drummer

It will be so hot, you won't want to be near a fire, but yes, there are several pits. A few beers and someone other than guidry beating on a guitar is all you really need and even that ain't needed to have a good time.

I like the ipod idea...doesn't have to be loud, just a little something playing in the background would work just fine.
