Caddo Sunday - Fishing Report
I made note of this one area on the way over to Onion Island on Friday and then again on Saturday... I had seen boats working there for the last two days and decided Sunday I was going to try it out and see what the fuss was about.
I woke up EARLY around 4:30 and hit the water. I had live bait but started off using texas rigged worms for bass.
First stop & cast under a nice lily pad I had a solid strike & FISH ON! A nice, what I think was a large mouth, rises up out of the water shaking her head. I see the hook fly out as she tail walks away from me. I probably landed and caught 5-7 more black bass in that area. Around sunrise I had 3-4 boats over me and it began to get challenging holding over the school while dodging other anglers. Everyone wanted my STOP Potlicking Sticker though
I moved away from the crowd & off to deeper water in 15' and found catfish & sunfish holding over structure. I went through all my live bait catching & releasing some small crappie, sunfish and getting broken off by cats using a 4LB ultra light.
It was a great way to end a fun weekend.
