I don't think I'd made it super clear in the original post, but all funds raised at this event will go directly to the GCLA (Greater Caddo Lake Association), and proceeds will be used to fight several invasive species, most important right now, the infestation of Giant Salvinia. If anyone would like to put funds directly to the cause, or help fund the lunch and dinner so more of the income from that will make it back to the lake, please shoot me a pm.*** The 2015 Caddo Lake Fun Run will be held Friday, June 12th through Sunday, June 14, 2015 with the main run being held on Saturday, June 13th. Crip's is in the process of having all of their cabins removed from the property, so they will not have any lodging available this year. We may still hold the event on their property, but will not know how that is gonna work out until closer to the ride. We have other options at this time if that falls through. This thread will be updated with more details as we get closer to June. I wanted to get an early start this year because lodging will be somewhat limited compared to previous years and we'll need to start getting everything booked up ASAP. We will get the website up and running soon, and set up for pre-registration. Tony B has stepped up to offer a free MMT Koozie and MMT sticker to all who take the time to register. Shirts will be available soon as well. We are trying to get some new accounts set up and need to work out some details still there, but shirts will be available. Pricing should be $20 again and once everything is set up, we should be able to take pre-orders through the website. I will keep this thread updated as we go along. I mainly wanted to get things up and going so we can start getting lodging taken care of. I have already booked up everything Shady Glade and Uncertain Inn have to offer so all booking of those two locations will be done through me. I will have a lodging thread up in the next few minutes and post a link here. Look forward to making this happen again! We were able to get a pretty decent chunk of change donated last year, and I'm looking forward to being able to help out with the invasive plant problems even more this year! Chris "bigrich" Rich will be handling the sponsors and give-a-ways this year, so anyone wishing to donate anything towards the cause, please contact him via PM and he'll get you sorted out. I'm sure he'll be starting a thread about it soon, and I will update this thread with a link when that happens. Coe will be helping us out with all the web based stuff and helping us keep everything together at the ride again this year. Feel free to contact me via PM with any questions. Thanks again! *edit* Just received confirmation that we will be able to hold the on shore events at Crips Camp. Huge thanks to Gary for allowing us to use his property. Especially this year as we were unable to "help" him out much as he didn't have any rooms available for us to rent. If you guys get a chance to shake his hand, make sure you tell him we appreciate his generosity. That means all of our "land based events" will be held at Crips Camp. Lunch and dinner on saturday will be cooked and served here. Those who wish to leave their boats in the water friday night should be able to leave them at the dock there. Those who are coming in just for Saturday's events can launch there (I believe they do charge a small fee to use the launch). The ride on Saturday morning will leave from there. The raffle will be held here sometime shortly after dinner, etc. I will get a thread up a little closer to the ride, with a good schedule. |
