We try to make it as realistic as possible, but you're right, nothing like a wild covey. Our birds fly pretty good but it really helps to have a flushing dog. |

Good friend of mine has set up a preserve on his land in Atmore, AL. We usually put out about 150 birds but only shoot 90-100. Probably do that five or more times per year, so there's actually starting to be a good number of wild quail mixed in. Great beer drinking sport! **Sent from my Obama Phone** |

We have them by the 100's on my farm in north mississippi. All wild and all fun as hell to shoot. |

I come across a covey here and there but not enough to hunt. I personally think there simply isn't enough food and habitat for them here anymore. Went to that WMA north of Amite that is supposed to be for quail. Walked for acres and never heard or flushed a sinle bird. |

You better have an absolute shit pile of money if your going to try and manage a piece of ground for wild quail. Shooting released birds is stil a good time. But hunting a place with wild birds is a rich mans game. Think millionaire and billionaire |

The setter is a great looking dog! I don't like a hooked tail on a english pointer, it;s got to be straight up at 11 or 12 o clock (I don't care how many birds he may find) I am not sure what that third dog is. I train DD's and have trained pointers and labs in the past. I am in New Orleans, I would do better hunting zebra than hunting wild quail here. I would kill to have a couple wild coveys to train with, and would be happy to never shot one if they were there for the dogs. I am not running your dogs down, but I know what I want in birddogs, Kinda like a redhead or blond thing or a big titties or little titties kind of thing JD |

on a second look that setter looks top end, a great looking dog. Is the third dog a irish setter, all three look like they have good running gear and are well condition. If all I hunted was quai i would have pointers, If all I hunted were ducks it would be a chessie or boykin with the boykin a little ahead. Since ther are not enough quail to justify a pointer or enough ducks for a chassie I do it all with my DD's JD |
