SOLD!!!...Finished 4yr old chocolate lab for sale
SOLD!! I have got to a point where I can't spend as much time with my dog as needed. She is 4 years old and I would consider her a finished duck dog. Her obedience is superb. Whistle broke, works off hand signals, literally does it all. She has no papers and she is spayed. She is cheap at $2,000. Located in KY. Call or message me for more information 270-705-4388.

2k you better find papers and she better be a field champion master hunter, with a sire and dam with the same. Beautiful dog though.

Re: Finished 4yr old chocolate lab for sale
A finished duck dog with paper is a minimal of 4-5k and if it has champions him self and his parents u will be in the 7-10k range if this dog performs and is "finished" it is a hell of a deal for someone

Re: Finished 4yr old chocolate lab for sale
I got 2000 in a started/ seasoned dog but she is from a champion bloodline I seriously doubt anyone gonna spend 2000 dollars on a dog with no papers that can't be breed not saying the work u put into her ain't worth that but if she were mine for 4 years I would concentrate on a good home not money

Re: Finished 4yr old chocolate lab for sale
For a Master Hunter dog you're talking double what he's asking, at minimum. And it takes way more than 4-5 months of training to get to Master Hunter level, even with the best of breeding.
My dog is off two field champs and was the best dog the trainer had at his kennel, and after 4 months she's not quite ready to get her Senior Hunter title (already has Jr Title).
You're talking $500 - $700 a month for training... Do the math.
Nice dog... I hope she goes to a good home.

Re: Finished 4yr old chocolate lab for sale
She's spayed so it doesn't really make a bit of difference if she's registered or not. Her sire and dam aren't doing the retrieving. Therefore, the only question (and a big one) would be what is the definition of finished. At the age of around 14 months all four of my dogs (see signature) were FF, CC, running multiple marks and running basic cold blinds. By no means would I have considered them finished...at that time. I would never have taken just $2000 for any of them. Since this dog has already been hunting (experienced) that's a plus and she is only four years old which is fairly young (if she has no health issues....hips, etc.). Anyone interested should find out in person what finished means and if you are only going to hunt a few times a year.....forget about it. Is she steady? quiet in the blind? those make a huge difference. Any good, young started (not running cold blnds yet) dog will run $1000-2000....and definition of "good" varies considerably. She might be a terrific deal. The only way to find out would be to check her out "up close" and in person. My oldest will be 13 in June. Last season she picked up a limit on opening day. If this four year old would hunt until she is 10 years old, the $2000 would amount to a little over $300 per season (not including other expenses). That's not a lot for a dog. Then again duck dogs and hunting do not make for an inexpensive "habit". In the end, she could very well be worth $2000.
