"Finished" with all basics , transition, runs cold blinds land and water, steady to shot, honors . So by your definition I could run an All Age dog in started and you would call him a started dog. I see many dogs that have run finished tests who were not
Finished. I finish all my dogs before they ever see a test or trial....since you asked.
The dog is finished.

Funny. So I guess last years National Field Trial Champion is not a finished dog for he has yet to pass a "Finished" test as well. I also own a finished barrel horse, but he's never run a "Finished" test so I guess he's not finished either. The title is not "Finished". What you are attempting to refrence is the HRC Hunting Retriever Champion title. "Finished" is the term that refers to the test's stake of which there are 3. Started, Seasoned, and "Finished". "Finished" to pro's is commonly a "training" description, not describing a stake in a HRC test.
Man you all know way more about this dog stuff than I do. I'm so glad I found a site teaming with dog professionals.

Does the dog have titles in anything r do people just have ur word to go by I personally been around ur dogs so I know what u r capable of and would take ur word for it but other people have no clue so without some proven accomplishments it is really hard to get what u r asking

Not asking anyone to take my word for it. Before I sell a dog, I usually spend a couple days going over everything the dog can/can't do, one on one with the dog and buyer/owner. Then I give the new owners a week or two to see if the dog is a fit for them. If there is ANY disappointment, I give them their check back without hesitation, no questions asked. In 11 years its never happened.
