My pup is about to turn 6 months old. We've been working on obedience every day and she is doing well in my eyes. All work is done while on the leash. Her obedience off leash is there but it could be better. The only thing I'm not sure of is when exactly I should be using heel vs here. While walking Ill heel her and she will come back to heel or if I call her here but she doesn't end up where she should Ill heel her and she will heel up good. Now my dilemma. Say I leave her at sit and walk forward a little ways should I call her with here, or should I heel her or does it even matter that much. Are there precise conditions under which here should apply vs when heel should apply or can I use them interchangeably. I find myself using heel and thinking I should have used here instead for the most part. Usually when I call her here she automatically comes to heel anyway. Also being that she is going to be 6 months I was going to introduce the e-collar to our training. But at the same time Ive read that I should start force fetching around 6 months. My question is should I polish up her OB with the e-collar first before I start FF or should I FF then introduce the e-collar?
