Not sure I understand the question but based on my situation: I live on 1.7 acres and the dogs have run of it. There is no boundary fence but they know the boundary lines. They are not out free roaming without supervision and usually secure the outside kennels when not in the house. I train and run them every day, at least once a day, sometimes twice. They do find. I have a .25 acre fenced yard and mine does just fine and she is a high strung one. You just have to spend time with them everyday to burn some energy. Get a bumper launcher that uses .22 blanks and head to the park or a field for 20 min a day, or have an outdoor kennel run and then exercise outdoors as well. My brother has one that is very lazy and mine in high strung and they came from the same litter so it's going to depend on the dog as well. His lazy DD will hunt 7 days straight duck in the morning and pheasants in the afternoon on trips as well. Most of the other people we hunt with dogs will make it 3 or 4 days. Ive got a small yard but the wife runs him 3 miles just about everyday. |
