Anybody have some areas they use for training on the Northshore? Looking for a pond to do water work in the evenings. |

I found a few places until the park police caught me. The St. Tammany gestapo is a pain in the ass. |

My favorite pond in covington to train is north of I12 on 190 right past crestwood blvd theres a lowes on the right. Right next to the lowes theres a pond on the right. Its great to train cause theres shprt grass, tall grash, brush and a decent size pond with no gators for sure. They never tell us anything for being in there. Next you can go to river highlands blvd past the dodge dealership all the way in the back on the right theres 2 nice ponds, its actually oxbows off the river. Real shallow in fronts so you could see any gator coming, but your dog actually gets disgusting mudy. For some more water work in you're not worried about depth or having any cover you can train in the actual river all the way back by 12 off of 3 rivers rd. Theres a nice compacted sand section with the rope swing that everyone swims. Lastly you can go to madisonville by the turnaround by academy theres a section of the river where a path is compacted down. |

My dogs are out of commission atm, due to a TPLO surgery but would like to run them when they recover later on. especially some swimming rehab in about 8 wks. |
