Post Laid a part of the family to rest
Eight years ago I inherited my sister's dog when she passed away. It was the most aggravating little dog. A Damn little ankle biter. It barked at me every time I visited her.
Her name was Febe and she was a Yorkie-Poo. She soon became my friend and a companion. She was a special little dog and always reminded me of my sister.
Well today she started to have some seizures and vomiting. I brought her in and they found a tumor in her belly. We brought her home hoping she would hang n there longer. She ended up having a couple more so we called the vet and brought her in and had her put down. It's tough seeing her go but what is worse is seeing my 7 year old son crying. He grew up with her. He knew that she was going to die even though we assured him should would be fixed by the doctor.

Now she is in heaven with her real momma. RIP Erika and Febe.

God bless you brother. I had to do the same thing about a year ago. Truly a difficult thing to go through at any age.

I should also add that she was almost 15 yrs old so she lived a good life.

I will be going through this again soon as I have a 13year-old lab. I'm not looking forward to that day either.

First off, I offer my condolences for your loss , We will always love them . I inherited a small Yorkie also named phoebe. , she was my wife's since before we were married , we also after a good long life had to put her down around age 13. She lays at rest in a special spot in our yard, I know your hurting but I truly believe all dogs go to heaven . Prayers for you and your loss.

sorry for your loss mike, its always hard to lose a friend.

i read this quote by a young boy while ago on why dogs have short lives, its has stuck with me. it may help your boy

He said, “People are born so that they learn how to live a good life – like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The four year old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”
