I stopped by Hugo Park after work yesterday - first time I've been there. Real nice place with a great view, I'll definitely spend some time there this summer. Parking looks like it could get real tight.

Those who ain't gonna make it, just gotta stress. This ride is a blast, beautiful scenery, great people, awesome food. Only rivaled by Caddo in my book. Water will likely be up and we'll be able to go into some very cool places.

Ima try and go Friday or saturday morning and check those passes on lost river side. If the water stays as high as it is its very possible we'll be able to cross over into Trinity without having to go all the way around. If not it'll probably be high enough to cut straight across the fields to the locks instead of following the river around. Turns a 15 minute trip around into a 5 minute cut through.

I was out there last weekend. I took my outboard over Lee's Gate. The gate was well underwater and easy to get from Old River to Trinity River.

Looking at the dam release the river is gonna continue to drop this week and probably come back down around normal height

Yeah I just looked at the chart, its dropped 3 ft in past 3 days. It'll probably be average-just above average by the end of the month. Good thing to that though is it'll concentrate the Lilly's back into the milker lake and the pond and not have them all spread out. Who's knows with this weather, north winds we been having might continue and possibly even bring some mud on the lost river side.

Most people not from the area will meet at crawdads.

Directions can be found on the event site.

A lot of people stop for last minute items at Crawdads gas station. You can probably just follow a mud boat from there to the launch, but it isn't hard to find.

I'm running it in the morning to make sure everything is cleared up. I'll let y'all know how it looks.

Like I said before, if anyone coming out a little later after we all leave I'll post up my number and you can give me a call. I know this whole area better than I know my way around my house and can get you where you need to be over the phone.

Rivers dropping fast. With no rain it very likely will be close to normal by the 23rd.

Every thing on lost river/old river side is cleared up. The last little bit of the cut from lost lake to old river is a little tight towards the end though. Pass to miller is cleared up as well. However I wouldn't suggest anyone bring a dog though. I saw more gators on old/lost than I've seen in quite a while. In the hour and a half or so it took to run that whole side I saw probably 30-40 gators all 5-8ft ers and a one or two 10ft. Had one 5fter try to get in the boat with me to, if I would a been about a foot closer to the bank he would have made it in lol.

Weather keeps looking better and better for Saturday!!

Water isn't as high as I've seen it before, should be fun riding either way.
