Second half of video is pond off miller i was talking about. Second video is some of the scenery off trinity. Alot of the lillys are cleared out but if you go far enough up in the pond stuff like this cam still be found. https://youtu.be/ND_NL6reusI. Its an all around good time and Coe cooks some good crawfish!

Post subject:  Re: Mud Bugs & Mud Boats - Wallisville, TX

It does get tight but nothing impassible. There's not any spots on the route that I'm aware of that you couldn't make it. How wide is your beam? My beam on my boat is 72" and I run all these trails and everywhere we go WTFO and have plenty of room. The only area around here where it gets to tight for really big boats would be mud lake but we don't go there on the ride. Its doable in a big boat but its a bit like bumper cars. I've gotten now to where I can do it in my boat at almost on step. As far as bypassing stuff, there are ways to by pass you miss half the stops for the poker run in the morning and then on trinity you go probably 4-5 miles out of the way and in the long run end up about a mile from where you started. I run this marsh and river probably 2-3 times a week in off season and probably 4-5 times a week in hunting season and unless there's new log jams there's not anywhere we go that I don't think you would be able to follow. I'll go up a few days before and look for jams and stuff that needs to be cleared then bring a chain saw the day of to use where need be.

You'll be fine, the only thing that keeps the airboats out of trinity is the low hanging trees. Other than that they followed us around in the morning on old/lost river.

Cool deal guys thanks.

James, when you make a route, there's a fun pass to ride down on the north east side of lost lake that would be fun to for everyone to run before cutting across into old river. Would add a little bit of ridding to the day. Instead of just cuting straight up lost lake to the cut through run the south end of the lake back into lost river and up to the oil field then that's where the cut starts before dumping back into lost lake at the north end.

If it's rhe trail I'm thinking of it needs a little clearing. Might need a chainsaw

It forks off and goes two ways the one that follows the levy all the way around, yes. The one that pops out right st the very north end of the lake didn't last time I ran it. But Ive only been up there once since the flood. I'll go check everything out when I get some time next week.

Its pretty wide all the way down the one I'm talking about. Not any flow through there either. It would take a lot of falling trees to jam it up

Post subject:  Re: Mud Bugs & Mud Boats - Wallisville, TX

I figured it probably was. No water flow through there so no reason for it to jam up unless a tree falls.

Thought that might be a fun cut to add to the route instead of just going straight up the lake into old river. There's a pretty big shell/sand beach at the north end of the lake thats right where that cut dumps out that would be a good spot for a stop as well.

Wife surprised me when she said she wanted to come to this one, probably because of the crawfish haha .. Sadly, now I just hope that the softball team she coaches don't make playoffs and we good to go !
