This is the only one cheap I seen still for sale. But there were several nice boats that went for under 2000 right after the season.

also, a white wire running up to the motor just right of the tiller handle has worn in two...any idea on what that may be? The motor is still running fine as far as i can tell...no way that would have anything to do with it not performing well is there?

Have to wait on one of the gt guys to respond on that one. You sure both cylinders are firing? It looks like there's obviously too much weight in the back of the boat, but you may as well look at everything you can, before you decide to do something drastic.
Did you talk to the guy you bought it from at all? How did it run for him?

Short transom boat and motor? Looks like a tall transom motor sitting on a short transom boat...

Wow I've never seen a boat drag that bad. Yeah you need a longer boat for sure.

well i know the guy i bought it from and he said before i bought it that it would go around 20-22 with one or two people in it and then slowed down a little bit once you put more than two people in it. I called him the other day and told him about what was goin on and he said that something definitely sounds wrong. Me and him are gonna go riding one day just to make sure that there isn't something simple that i'm missing. If he can't figure out whats wrong then im gonna call the guys at gatortail and maybe they'll know what's wrong. But the previous owner said that the boat ran fine with just one person so im guessin that the boat is fine...just somethin wrong with the motor.

X2 on trying new or different prop.

Sand will eat a prop up faster than you will believe.

46 hrs should`nt wear that much, but if thats what the hr meter says, well. :|

Good luck!

Post Re: wrong boat/motor combo?
i just measured and the transom on the motor is 17'', so it's a short transom motor. The transom on the boat is 16''. On the trailer, the bottom of the transom is about 2'' above the bottom of the bottom of the transom. Also, dog walker pm'd me and made a good point about on the transom mount there are 3 holes, to raise and lower the transom. Currently, the bolt is through the top hole, but wouldn't it make sense to have it through the bottom hole? The paint is worn off around the bottom hole where the washer was, so im thinking that the previous owner had it on the bottom hole. I would just change it and take it out for a test run, but i've got a load to do this week and it will be either friday or saturday before i could take it out. Someone tell me that this will fix the problem please! :D That would be such a relief if that's all that was wrong!

I'm really thinkin that it's trimmed up too high or the prop is worn and it's just slipping from those pics. If it wasn't running on both cylinders it would be running kind of rough under a load.
