 ?? Battery for 12v 40lb thrust trolling motor ?? I got a 40lb thrust 12v trolling motor off of craigslist. What kind of battery is best for a trolling motor? Do I just nut up and pay for the optima deep cycle marine battery? Thanks for the help.

Re: ?? Battery for 12v 40lb thrust trolling motor ?? I paid 180 a piece for both my optima's. I have the same trolling motor and after being left out in lake fishing. I bought the optima's and they are good so far.

Re: ?? Battery for 12v 40lb thrust trolling motor ?? Battery follow up question. I currently have a duralast marine battery hooked up to my 23 GDSD. For some reason the positive post corrodes really easily. I take the positive cable off, clean the post, clean the cable, then hook it back up. The next day (after just leaving it in the garage for the night) I come out and theres some corrosion on it. What is causing this? The water level looks good. Other than that, I don't really know what to check.
