 35 HP VANGUARD IDLES HI
Hi, I need some help. I have a brand new 35 hpVanguard in a mud boat, It idles at 1500rpm. How to lower the idle? Also max rpms in water is 2900. do you think is the problem? the boat is 16' 40" btm made out of fiberglass. very light? Any help would be great.

This screw will lower your idle. It's located behind the front plastic housing next to the choke tab. You will need to drill a hole thru the cover to get to it.
As for your wide open throttle rpms......you need to see what they are out of the water. Check it out and repor back.

Thanks I had to bend the tab on the white spring to get some adjustment. The full throttle out the water is 2900rpms. any help?

Yeah....turn your governor adjustment screw clockwise until your wide open neutrol rpm's are about 4100-4200.

Nice pics Craig.
The tab on the white spring should be just where you have some tension on it. That spring keeps up the idle to keep it from dying when you put it in gear under load.

Before you go messing around with the governor spring, I would check to make sure that your cable hasn't slipped (back) or see if your actually getting full throttle out the cable/ throttle lever. Seen that happen quite a few times.
