I mounted mine on my trolling motor bracket. It was the only place I knew I could mount it that had room for the winch to work and a thick surface. 2 quarter-twenty bolts and she is good to go.

Coastal, that looks a lot like a warn... looks like they even use similar nomenclature... might be a good buy.

I use a Superwinch 2000 that I picked up at Farm and Fleet for $69. Hooked a 18 inch chunk of chain with a hook, onto it so as to be able to hook it up anywhere on the hull depending on the circumstances.

Willett, i have some borg warner part numbers for Oreillys... They are a 6 gauge quick disconnect and all you have to do is insert the wire, crimp it to the pin, and insert the pin into the plastic housing. Pretty easy.

Ill get it here in a little bit.

good idea sand man

I kinda want some kind of plug that can be mounted flush with the deck (cables under deck) and just quickly plug in because like alot of folks my winch isnt gonna be mounted permanently to the boat...any ideas for that besides the one sanders showed in the link?

Add 6 gauge and your good to go. You can see some of those pins i was talking about in some of the picture. If you do order them, order 2. 1 box only has one connector.

Yessir!

I think they are fairly inexpensive. Plus when you get all of the wire you need, you shall come up short of that warn kit.

So call up the local Tyler O'reillys on Front street and order up some plugs!

FYI, if you run those leads all the way to the front of your boat, I would NOT leave them hooked to the battery. Don't ask why. I don't have time for another electrical lesson! Just hook them up when you need power to your winch or put a solenoid in-line like warn uses with an on/off switch.

You gonna have a TM up front so just use the the same plug for your winch. I use a short piece of chain and chain it to the bow or stearn eyes depending on what way I plan to winch the boat. Or just use a couple shackles. Plug it into the TM plug front or back. I have the TM plugs on my TM, winch and HH lights. You can make up a short line with a female plug on one end and clips on the other if you plan to use your winch elsewhere.

I think I used 8ga but my batteries are only a couple feet from the plugs front and back. If you gonna make a long run you probably need 6ga.
