I got that 07 Classic Duramax LBZ. 4" MBRP straight pipe, PPE standard tuner, Edge insight gauges, and badass look that will catch your eye. It will blow black smoke, bust them cummins ass on the highway at speed, and still pull the fawk out of a trailer. Here is my Badass Dmax! Youd be surprised how much more crap you can do with a bigger truck.

my 02 7.3 has a straight pipe and tymar intake.... DP tuner and edge insight in the near future.

Terry on the real. Look for something 2007Classic and older. You wont have the DPF shit to worry about. Really any of the the big 3 diesels are good. It all depends on style and comfort.

Here is my 07' Classic DMAX w/ 5" MBRP straight exhaust, Quadzilla Stealth II Tuner and AEM Intake...like Maxxis said they are all good truck and it comes down to preference just like go-devil, gator-tail and pd are all good mudmotors it just comes down to preference.

I had a 2005 F350 Super Crew Duelly. That truck could pull anything but I had alot of problems with it. AL the injectors went out over time 2 EGR coolers a Oil Pump Cooler it seemed like once it hit 80,000 miles I had nothing but problems. I traded it on brand new 2010 F150 Supercrew. I have 3,000 miles on it so far but love this truck I get 22.5 on the highway and 17.5 pulling the boat. I got the 5.4 with the new 6 speed and the max tow package up to 9,500 lbs. No complaints yet on the new Ford. I miss the long box on the duelly but thats about it

Buy a Chevy 2500 HD with a 6.0 Gas.The oilfield and Road crews are putting over 250,000 miles on them without any major problems.If you buy a Diesel you will need a savings account to pay for your repairs when needed.You can put a New transmission in a gasser for what the injector pump cost on a Diesel.You can put a New Engine in a Gasser for what the Transmission cost on a Diesel.All parts and maintenance will eat you up on a diesel.Good luck!!!

I had a 2500HD gasser with a 6.0. Truck was damned good to me. I got a good deal on a duramax from a guy I work with. It was the reason to make me switch. The 6.0 is a hoss, but fuel economy is far from superior, But you can buy alot of gas for what the option of a diesel engine upgrade costs. I really enjoy pulling my boat now and getting 15 MPG Vs 11 I did with the gasser.

I have owned and tore up or wrecked alot of diesel trucks here is what i know.

Chevy: LB7 injectors suck
LLY Run hot unless you have the rare ZF6 tranny
LBZ the best and not much emmisions crap

Dodge: 12valve last forever makes no power
24valve last forever a little more power
03 up sucks cant keep injectors in them and warranty is a joke
6.7 Dodge yet again messed up a good Cummins motor

Ford: 6.9 very reliable no power
7.3 bout the same as 6.9
94.5-97 7.3 powerstroke very dependable a little more power
99-03 Prolly the best trucks ford ever made super strong and still reliable if you dont mind changing cam sensors every now and then.
03.5 and up 6.0 junk
never had any dealings with the 6.4 or the new 6.?? 7 i think

I am currently driving a 04.5 Chevy LLY ZF-6 With: afe bladerunner mouthpiece, pcv reroute, egr blocked, ride rite bags, PPE programmer, 4 inch down pipe back exhaust, and SBC double disk clutch. I love this truck but it eats wheel bearing like nothing i have ever seen.

You are right they both can make power but you would have to put work and money into them. I have owned one of each.

what kind of wheel bearings are you going with?

are your torsion bars cranked up high? or is it lifted with big tires?

I drive Chevy trucks for my company vehicle. I put between 42k and 45k a year on them. I am on my fourth Chevy in a row. I drive them until they have 120K to 130K and then I get a new one. I have 35K on my current one, which is a 1/2 ton. I have not had any repairs on any of the four trucks. Maintenance, yes. Repairs, no! How's that for a service record?

My last one was the 6.0L Silverado 2500 gasser. The truck was a stud. Probably the closest you can get to diesel power. And I regularly towed a 6' x 12' double axle trailer full of construction equipment.

OK thanks for all the help!! I went out and bought a 2011 Z71 today !!! Cope you hit it on the dime about the repairs and shit after thinking of it all i pull is my boat so gas is better for me!! I tried to get it with out reverse i wouild have had to special order it !!
