 he did it
some of you may remember that my dad had a bad bike wreck 1 1/2 yrs ago that nearly killed him. in fact it really should have. anyway he finally got the bones healed up and just recently got the external fixator removed from his leg where there was 6 inches of his leg bone was missing. the bone graft finally worked. he fixed up a blind in the back of his truck so he could deer hunt. he's supposed to be really cautious the next few months with his leg. a regular gun no longer fits him due to his restricted movement in his hands due to his wrist bones being reduced to powder. hopefully he will be back duck hunting next year. he has been extremely determined to get back to the woods doing the things he loves the most. he just has to do some things a little different. he's back in the saddle though and im really proud of his determination. thanks to everyone that said a prayer for him.....

 Re: he did it
Stories like this remind me of my little bitty problems and aggravations I have compared to him.
Your dad is a real man with a really good soul! Congrats to him, and that is a fine buck for his hard work.
I am convinced that the hunting and other outdoor past times is what keeps alot of people going including myself.

 Re: he did it
I know i post alotta stupid sh*t on here, but listen when i say spend time with your folks guys. My dad is 77 yrs. old now and cant do hardly anything. he has about 60 acres with cattle, he has tractors ,dozers, and a succesfull farm supply in gonzales,la. he cant enjoy any of that hardly at all anymore. I run the farm, my sister runs the business (SACS feed and western store), and believe it or not his favorite pastime when he feels good enough to go outside is for me to take him in the swamp on my mm. he suffers from COPD, heart disease, and arthritis. He has 21 stints in his heart.(not sure if i spelled that right). im sure within the next few months there will be a "prayers needed" with his name on it, because he has a close call every few months. so, even if you dont get along with them, spend some time wit your folks. oh sh*t, sorry _med, tell your dad congrats and keep his head up!!

 Re: he did it
thanks fellas..... Paul he really likes the gun and says it shoots good but i havent got to pull the trigger on it yet. his deer hunt was kinda funny. he's been hunting hard too tryn to kill one. he had been sitting there all morning in the cold and rain and decided to get in the truck and eat a bite and warm up a little about 1130. after he ate and warmed up he decided to get back at it. anyway the deer ended up walking out while he was trying to take a piss then the deer started running across the field toward him. it wasnt text book and not how he thought things would play out but he managed to whack him and drop him in his tracks
