Post 2011 Chevy Duramax 4x4?
I am in the process of buying a 2011 Chev Duramax Lt. How much can a guy chip off the sticker price? I have not bought a new truck in several years and trying to figure out how much I can knock off. I am buying out right with no trade in. The truck I am wheeling and dealing on right now is 51,000 and I was quoted 46,800. Thanks
Randy

My Mom and her husband both just bought new trucks for like 1000 over invoice. They called around until they found a dealer willing to work with them and had to drive a few hours to pick em up, but it was well worth the effort. No haggling at all. I will give you a grand over invoice, you want the sale or not? No, on to the next.... It was two separate purchases about a year or so apart, but the dealer did the same thing for them both times. They may fudge the invoice a lil bit somehow, but still waaaay cheaper than anyone else. Paid cash also, don't know if you are, and I'm sure that helped.

They're out of town right now, or I'd call to check the number for sure. It may have been slightly more than that or less, but that's the number ringing in my head. I just remember saying wow, that's cool. One of them was a duramax 2500, the other was a colorado...

Actually wait. You are a cop, aren't you? The government has a car buying program already set up for you. Talk to your HR dept. It should be simple and you get the lowest possible price for the car.

I bought a new Z71 LTZ about 6 months ago, 43K sticker. Paid 36K. Sticker was 51K on LT duramax, I was quoted 46k. Check on the extra thousand off if financing from GMAC. Even if you're planning on paying outright for it, do the financing then pay it off in a month.

The sticker price shouldn't mean anything. Only deal with invoice. Rebates should come in after the negotiated price. I paid under invoice for my last truck by shopping around (F150 4x4) and that was before rebates. If I'm not mistaken, the rebates come directly from the factory and shouldn't affect the dealer invoice. Keep in mind that there is also a little dealer profit built into the invoice price.

Thanks guys! I spoke to the Sales Mgr last night about the truck and pricing. The dealership owner is a very good friend of my best friend from St Louis. The mgr told me he would have to ask the owner how agrressive he wanted to price the truck and call me back today. The dealership is three hours away so I told him that I was not price shopping I just wanted a low dollar take it or leave it deal. I told him the area dealership has the prices marked down six grand without any dealings. So either today I'm getting a new truck or still shopping.

That's a nice truck you're looking at. Let me know how you like it that I might be getting one in the near future.

I will for warn you that the new LML engines are throwing low boost codes, and also they are recalling them at about 6k miles for a float sensor in the Amea fuel tank for the Regen process, I drive the 08 Lmm duramax and keep up with the updates on the newer trucks to see what the are coming out with

After speaking with the dealership owner the mgr called and said they will sell the new truck to me for 500 over invoice. 51,000 sticker price and I was offered 44,900 I tried to get some 20's thrown in but they said the new 2011 20" factory wheels are about 8 weeks out.
How does that price sound to you guys?
Thanks for the links too

Randy

If you want to save a bunch of money go find a 2009 or 2010 brand new sitting on the lot they will slash the hell outta those prices. I bought an 07 classic in may traded in my 03 and they had an 09 new one still on the lot and were trying to get me to buy it they slashed the price offered 0% for 72 months it was just more than I was willing to spend.

They sent me pics today of the new truck. It sure will look nice pulling my plateboat. I gotta figure out how to get some time to go and pick it up. I am willing to bet there will be difference between my 1997 Ford Powerstroke and a 2011 Duramax.

your new truck will ride much better than your powerstroke. i haven't heard to many problems with the engine (other than being aluminum block). I also heard people claim Alison tranny's hate cold weather, being from La can't verify this. Also you will get better gas mileage than a powersroke. If you do plan to doing any aftermarket adjustments check makes sure the don't void you warnanty. If you chip it exhaust and intake are a must the truck needs to breathe and exhale. I personally am not a durmax fan but i know several people who drive them and are completly satisfied. I drive a 24v cummins and am extremly pleased with it. Its hard to beat 25.4 mpg on the hwy. Good luck with your purchase

You'll love the duramax as i am a DMAX owner. It gets great diesel mileage and gets better if you put an exhaust kit on it. The ride is awesome and the handling is second to none. It'll pull anything

Sounds like your looking for an excuse to pull the trigger on a new "toy". Think about how much taxes you'll have to pay in April if you don't buy it......then send us a picture of your new ride.

I bought an 08' DMAX 4x4 Crew Cab in DEC 08'. Sticker was 47k and change, out the door for 32k. I would ask to see the dealer invoice.
