 Re: GTR shipping damage.
Who crates the motors, you would think that there would be some kind of cushion between parts that are going to be in contact with the wood

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
The plastic piece is da only thing I can see bein upset over. As for as paint on skeg and lower unit, dat shit is gonna wear off anyway. None of it affects da integrity of da motor it is only cosmetic. If you want a rig dat looks pretty get a bass boat. I know you gonna say you spent your hard earned money and you expect everything to be perfect, but think about it like dis. If you buy a shovel are you gonna be upset dat da paint on da blade is scratched? No because it is a tool and it doesn't matter if da blade is scratched because you're bout to put it in da mud and dirt anyway. Same wit dis, go put it in da mud and quit worrying bout if it looks pretty.

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
I know it's gonna get some wear, hell I've already worn some paint off the skeg in sand, but....
If you paid 7300 bucks for a shiny new E-tec, and it came like this, it wouldn't be cool. So I paid 7300 bucks for a mudmotor, I still paid for a NEW motor.
I ain't making a stink over the cosmetic stuff, I just want my plastic cover one of these years.

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
So all the other engines they shipped were not packaged properly? That is not the first one they have shipped and thats the way they do it.
I agree you should have gotten your broken cover already

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
LMsBO on the UncleJs lawyer video !!!! Here is mines take on yore situation ~ Gator-Tail is not that large of a company .. thay ain't Mercury, Yamaha, Ford, Chrysler, and so forth ..... Gator-Tail is a company that you can make a simple phone call to and talk with the person ..... most the time you can even talk with the president .. Mr. Kyle himself ... and git what you need done !!! When we shipp thangs .... thangs is gonna happen sometimes that beyound anybodys control .. don't really matter who packaged it. The paint thats gone can be re-applied as many times as you wants too. The pain't should be sent to you fo free. The broken plastic should be replaced ..... rite dang now at no charge to you what-so-ever .... it's gonna be enuff trouble fo DMD to put the change out himself. I really cain't believe you posted this here on MMT .... meanin' that .... Gator-Tail should have already satisfied yore needs ....... I still cain't believe it ...... somethin' ain't rite here ..... you sure you tellin' us here on MMT all the story ???

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
U all r idiots. Everytime someone says something negative about a company all of u freak out and take up for the company instead of the consumer. Most of u are fucking idiots, and that is outrageous. Call me what u wish, but if that would have been my brand new motor I would be upset as well. I would have called Kyle and demanded a new one. Bunch of liberal morons

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
you think kyle went out there and kicked his own gtr on the ground to make his customer unhappy. NO!! you wouldn't get a new gtr if you tried to bring it back with that minor damage they would fix to make it new. (thats how manu. work)
but regardless the product had MINOR damage. if the was marked on the freight bill that you had damage when you recieved it, then you can call the manu.(GT) and explain your damages. and get replacement parts and maybe a small credit for your labor.
if it had major damages, he should have refused it and then you might could get a brand new one. thats the only way.
but the fight should be between GT and the freight company. not a buncha know it alls on MMT. lol

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
When I looked at the pic and saw the broken strap I thought that it was broken during shipping thus allowing the engine to move freely causing the damage.
I do think that DMD should have been taken care of as soon as this happened. No matter who was at fault it should have been addressed right away. I don't know both sides but I think he has been very patient while waiting on things to get taken care of but you can only wait so long I suppose.

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
We see this all the time with components. Someone is always gonna blame the company for product blemishes no matter what. If things get damaged in transit shipping company or persons carrying freight will be reviewd first. The fact that this motor has been shipped a large distance and probably has switched hands a few times is an issue for any freight. Once that thing leaves the manufactures shop, it is on the shipping comany to keep the cargo secure. Shit happens man, sometime at bad times, but you dont have to be a peckerhead to get things fixed. Alot of times a simple call with an explantion will get the issue resolved quickly. Posting harsh statements on the WWW will not help things either. Anyways Run your motor and get a cowling on the way. Its 2 bolts that hold it on.. Takes all of 5 minutes to change. The scuff marks add character, The first time you dig in mud and run it the paint will start wearing off the skeg. Then when grass balls around the prop that seal reatiner will be shiny again jsut like all the other motors that get used. I can see your frustration, but I find it odd that is supposedly taking this long for you to get parts...

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
All you guys saying he's being an a$$hole for posting his experience, what are yall thinking? The guy purchased a brand new motor. It should be recieved in brand new shape. He has contacted his dealer, and the manufacture trying to get the issue resolved. It's been over two months now and the problem has still not been fixed. Doesn't appear that they are even trying to resolve the issue. Yall talk alot about how great the cs is over at gt, but there has damn sure been a lot of complaints recently... I can't even comprehend why it is taking so long to fix such a small issue. Who cares who is at fault? It can't cost gt but a few pennies to make a customer happy, why not just do it?

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
My point was that we all call directly to the manufacture quite a bit. I personally have never called a dealer for a part on my motor. Not quite the same as calling ford's corporate office. The boys are moving up in the world, but they ain't that big yet.
The other point was this is such a small issue man. Who care's who is at fault? GT coulda made this right without even flinching. It's a small simple part. I can't imagine it costing gt much more than a few bucks even if they paid for shipping.

 Re: GTR shipping damage.
Damn, all I did was post a couple of pics as I promised in this thread... viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13776&hilit=+lead+timeAnybody wanna read the dates? I didn't want to open a huge can of worms, but a lot of people are ready to jump on something as soon as it hits, e-thugs I reckon. Point is, a lot of things were promised, from both my dealer and Gator-tail directly, and to this day all of them are broken. I was promised once again today that it will be shipped, we'll see. I will say this, I recieved an offer today from Pro-drive to send me my part, and a bunch of PD shirts and stickers for free. That's customer service. I apologize to you, Keith, but as I told Kyle himself last time, I haven't said anything untrue, exaggerated anything, or mislead anyone in anyway. I feel I have been very subtle and patient, and have kept my mouth shut where a lot of people wouldn't have. I'll never know why tons of Mikuni's and mufflers go out the door each month, yet I am still overlooked.
