thats all right i was gonna build on out of conduet pipe but was just looking for some better ideas

That design is nice but way over complicated.

Use conduit or aluminum tubing. Bend a 90 on each end and attach it to the boat so that it folds up. use a bunjie cord to hold them together when you have them raised. The last thing you want is to over comlicate a blind that you have to raise and secure in the dark. Not to mention a small portion will be hanging off the boat while running. If and when you rub a tree / brush the joints are going to break. No joints is better. I'll post a pic when i get the chance.

blind frame is 3/4" galv. emt conduit
grass is fast grass ty-rapped to burlap which is ty-rapped to frame
pic 1 is bracket to mount on boat
pic 2 is prop rod to hold blind in up position
pic 3 is blind down in travel position
pic 4 and 5 are up position from side and stern.
this is revision 2, orig model was same frame but i used nylon straps and bungie cords to hold the frame in the up position, the bungies seemed to be in the way. thats why i came up with prop rods
blind can be put up in just a couple minutes

I'm talking about the 12 little weak ass plastic joints on the frame you dipshit! That shit would break on the first hunt if you ran anything hard, other than your mouth!

Don't pay someone to do it. Bottom line. Cmiller and myself did mine. Cost me maybe 200-250 with all the material, netting, grass, etc.

okheres the boat blind me and a buddy built for my boat few weeks ago wanted to do a couple things diff. but was pressed for time so it is what it is. despite a small amount of afro engineering it turned out really good for three hours worth of workand very little invested. i already had the conduit paint zip ties nuts bolts grass matts etc so the only thing i bought was a tarp and a couple of conduit hangers. heard some people talking about the blind being in the way for other things , this can be removed in about 2 minutes by loosening 4 nuts. and as far as the the blind hitting things from hanging outside the boat, i just bent the conduit to match the contuor of the boat so nothing sticks out. ill have to admit i copied pokers design a little. anyway heres some pics.
and yeah i know i have the wrong boat the wrong motor etc but evena blind squirrel finds a duck every once in a while hope this helps

All of these designs are about the same in principal. The only "innovation" I incorporated was to come up with a better idea to lift up and lock the top rungs of tubing in place. I cut a a piece of aluminum tubing the size of the top opening I wanted and put a hook on either end of it; one tube for the front and one for the back. If two are hunting, we simply hook the left tube, grab the other by hand, pull up and hook the other. Then we cinch up my adjustable straps to tighten. The whole structure becomes very ridged and strong. Take down is similar. Loosen straps, unhook, and drop.

On the rig in this thread painted orange....I'd camo with camo tape like we did. Tape tubing horizontally...much easier than wrapping it around...two strips to cover circumference of 3/4 inch conduit.

I'd also recommend, if you use fastgrass, or the like, you buy 1" garden netting from Lowes or Home Depot and cut and secure this to the backs of each panel of fast grass and attach this to your tubing. This will relieve stress from the panels and they will shred less and last longer.

for lifting and lowering the blind i have two cinch straps one attached to both sides on back and one on both sides of front. when you want to raise it just grab and pull the straps.the straps attaching the top rail to the rib of the boat stops them when they get tight. you can let it up or down in 5 seconds. with the double fold nothing really hangs in the water. and the orangish brown rails are covered with a brown tarp to cut the wind. also makes a good rain shelter we've learned.
