Post Which is best etc.
In yalls opinions, what would be the best surface drive for the money?

Which is known to go through the most stuff, and most shallow stuff, whatever the circumstances?

I really like the gator tails and from what ive seen the gator tails perform the best, but then again, ive never really seen a pro drive perform against it in mud, only mud buddys. I know this may be a worn out topic but im new here and would love the info i plan on upgrading my long tail to one next year but need something that will go through alot of shallow stuff.

since soo many seem concerned with speed lately the best for the money in my opinion would prolly be a 40 hp mercury, mine runs 32-37 mph and carries a pirogue and a load real good too.
this late in the season, the duckbirds get pretty educated and huntin out of a big 16' boatblind sometimes doesnt put the odds in ya favor. ;)
for playing in the mud i love the yamaha grizzly with 29" vampires or the MAX 6x6 amphibious is a blast, but the MAX is kinda slow if theres more than a few feet of water and the snorkels on the grizzly are only about 4 foot or so high.
to meet somewhere in the middle of all this,my gator-tail does a good job.
the 4 main surface drive brands are all proven.
they all have some advantages and disadvantages over the next.
your conditions will determine whats best for you.
they all have dedicated cheerleaders
but i seriously do believe that, from what i gather, the word on the street, what the grapevine says, and IMHO,cant prove it,or have ever seen it done but.....................................................

this has been said time and time again....go test drive em all and see which one suits your needs best. they all run about the same price give or take a few bucks. you def want neutral and reverse in my opinion so that would leave just prodrive and gatortail to go test drive. but if you really want to try em all out go to all the dealers (gator tail, pro drive, go devil, and mud buddy) and see which one is for you. plain and simple, thats the only way to see which one you like. as far as speed, before you sign the dotted line for purchase tell em put a stage 1 you wont regret it. you will have speed + load carrying capabilities. as far as going through the most well it all depends on the driver ;) .... this is just my .02.
