I call this a bad day at work
If yall plan on burning the marsh please avoid burning the board walks and the PVC post. It'll save me alot of time, sweat, and headache . Thanks in advance.

Re: I call this a bad day at work
we do several different studies but the one that this is set up for is taking accreation and subsidence readings. accreation= the amount of soil deposited on top of the marsh/swamp surface during high water periods. subsidence= the distance that the soil sinks. We take these measurements and compare them over certian time frames to uderstand what happening out there from a data stand point. if we were to run the boat next to where we take these readings it would compress the soil and throw off the data. Which brings to another favor to ask. if yall do happen to walk out on our board walks plesae dont step off of it in eathier direction of the last 20 feet. This is our most critical zone for the entire site.

Da go get'er, who do you work for?
That being said, do you own all those boats listed in your signature? Just askin', cause we have a little prick game warden here that likes to tell everybody about "his" boats. When in fact he don't own sht, they belong to the refuge.

Re: I call this a bad day at work
Yeah, ya'll forkers do got some boats. I was just checkin'. Ya never know, them federal boys like to claim stuff. And yeah, that's a bitch. Used to hunt a place where the owner used pallets for a path, it sucked when they would get burnt up. Carrying pallets through phragmite ain't worth a sht.

Re: I call this a bad day at work
Will any of that equipment taht measures surface soil tell you if mudmotors are tearing up the marsh, cause if they can i need to borrow it to prove a point to these F'en refuges!

Re: I call this a bad day at work
the stuff we use to collect the soil data you can buy at any hardware store. except for our portable liquid nitrogen tank that gonna cost a few ruppels. but the way we collect wont work for what your talking about anyhow.

Re: I call this a bad day at work
probably the best solution to getting a public access area to a refuge is to start a petition or something of the likes. The refuges form pavillions, sidewalks, brick buildings, etc..... that destroy nature in areas. the least they can do is grant a couple hundred acres to mudmotor riding (if thats the problem your trying to solve).

Re: I call this a bad day at work
I don't call that a bad day at work....I call that a dream job. You get to breath fresh air and piss on the ground and you never have to spit in a cup. Just chill out and enjoy sweatin a little. You could be wearing a tie and pointy shoes going in to kiss a little ass every morning so the christmas bonus is good. Quit bitchin.

Re: I call this a bad day at work
Completely agree, I weren't saying you don't appreciate your job bud, heck I wish I could be out there with ya. I hate some dam litterbugs, and I used to caretake some marsh that people would fukk with all the time. But you gotta remember it's MMT. You have 7, maybe 8 relative posts, then it's fair game to become a chat room.
