First of all, this ain't my motor. Its a friends mudbuddy with about 600 hours on it.
Bent pushrod and it actually broke the casting of the head. Anyone ever seen this before?

Re: Damage pics, anyone ever seen this???
From what the mechanic said that tore the motor apart, it looks like the pushrod came lose, binded up on the rocker and broke the rocker off of the head casting. I just posted this on here to see if this was something that happens frequently. In the original post I stated that the motor had about 600 hours on it. The motor has that much, but these heads were worked by Gator Tail 120 hours ago.

Yes, We have seen that before. Usually is an over rev situation that will cause a pushrod to jump out.

Re: Damage pics, anyone ever seen this???
you would think when it jumped out the angle would bend the rod rather than break the head. they must be pretty stout, though ive heard of the bending ?

Re: Damage pics, anyone ever seen this???
Happens- seen one with billet push rods do the same on an exhaust rocker but the billet p-rods are much stiffer. Could be caused by either over-rev or valve lash was too loose and let the push rod out of the adjuster. In most cases the loose rod would just give, but if it got caught just right (or wrong, depends on how you look at it) under the rocker, it can produce the damage posted in the picture.
