Re: Best Diesel Pick Up Truck?
The current Allison 1000 in Dmax's is the same tranny since 01, regardless of 5-6 speed. The speed trans difference is the valve body and the TCM (transmission control Module). Actually IIRC this allsion 1000 has enough planetaries to support 7 forward gears!

Re: Best Diesel Pick Up Truck?
If you want the allison to hold, your gonna need more than a transgo Jr. When the time comes.... Suncoast will be getting a call.

Re: Best Diesel Pick Up Truck?
Lol......That's why cummins get better gas mileage. We are smart enough to get other people pull us places. With the price of diesel these days I'll let you pull my truck anywhere

Re: Best Diesel Pick Up Truck?
Guys, I started the process of looking for a truck to pull a boat I'm going to be getting soon and found this one. I'm only planning on using this truck to pull the boat and just keep my F-150 as my main vehicle. So what do you guys think of this 01 F350 and what should I look for when I go take a look at it? Thanks. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... page=thumbIt has low miles compared to similar F350's so I'm thinking they might have rolled back the miles on it. I also think that with the prices of fuel that are soon to come, there are going to be a lot more diesels on the market.

Re: Best Diesel Pick Up Truck?
For that price and that little miles I find that hard to belive. Usually people ask top Dollar for a 7.3 PSD. If the truck is local id go look at it with a foine tooth comb. If it is exactly what it says and Not too good to be true thats one HELL of a deal for a Dually.
