When I was in 6th grade, some 8th grader decided to just start picking on me. Pretty relentless. One day we got off the bus and he just popped me in the mouth. He was a skinny little fuck and he tried to run. I grabbed his backpack and pulled him backwards and down. He kind of rolled over on his back like a turtle. I wore his gotdamned face out. Bus was sitting there and the driver (an old white trash lady named Ginger) pulled me off of him and gave him a ride home. His face swole up like a pumpkin. Hadn't thought about that in 25 years. Damn. Funny thing was, nobody ever said a word. Parents, teachers, administrators.
