 Digging OK So I planted a tree in the back yard about 2 weeks ago -- well my puppy decided it was time to dig --- she is not only digging there but I can see other areas that she is digging in. I am going to put a little chicken wire fence around the tree to keep her out for now
What can I do to stop her from digging -- I am not gonna beat her ass -- I have scolded her when I have caught her --- I have kenneled her when I have caught her -- nothing seems to help
I know the reason a dog digs is either because they are bored and need to expound energy or they are practcing building a den
I run the shit out of the dog --- we play fetch a lot with her bumper -- I will trow it till my arm is tired (40 or 50 times) I try to help her burn as much energy as I can

Re: Digging If she keeps digging in certain spots put her crap in them. Doesn't always work but it's free and worth a shot

Re: Digging they dig holes to lay in because the ground is cooler for them during the summer time and warmer during the winter (if its dry)

Re: Digging X2 on putting sht in the holes, but sometimes my dog will just go somewhere else. It's like once something in the yard is turned up, she's on it. Shock collars fukkn work.  May not be the nicest thing, but I think that's the quickest way to get your point across, and it won't take but a couple of times and they won't do that sht anymore, you won't have to use the collar for long.
