Post How to change prop on Pro Drive??
I got my new prop today and can't seem to get the old one off. It almost seems like it is seized up on the shaft. Some pointers or directions on how to do it properly would be great. Thank, Chase.

took the nut off and tried to hit the end of the prop with a dead blow hammer to get it loose.

No. I do not. It seemed logical to me. I didn't do it but 2 or 3 times and it occurred to me that wasn't right. It would be great if I could get some pointers.

Did you do anything to keep the shaft from spinning?

Buy the prop wrench and machined pin to lock the shaft up from PD. Its a great investment and will make your life much easier.

X2

a couple little tips when your removing the prop trim the motor down a little then look at the front the prop ( toward the bow) turn the prop until the slot in the prop bushing is on top the shaft, either pour a little 90w or shoot some WD-40 in the slot this will lube the bushing as it turns on the prop shaft.

When your reinstalling the prop and after you coat the threads with never sieze run a line of 90W oil across the top the threads, it will come off twice as easy the next time round.
