New need help choosing a motor
Hey everyone I am new to the forum and new to mud motors I have a 18 ft modified v hull I beileve 54 wide i bought with a 23 go-devil I sold the go-devil before even trying it. I am looking for a new motor was leaning toward a pro drive because of the low maintenance of the shaft drive or so I imagine. Please help me make the correct choice the first I will normally run 3 decently fed guys 220lb range and some hunting gear not very thick where i need to go but i dont want to be extremely limited to where i can and cant go. Im open to all opinions and preferably facts. Im located in central florida if that helps with anything. Feel free to ask anything you need to know to better you suggestions. THANKS a lot everyone.

If you want reverse that only leaves 2 options. Gator Tail or Pro Drive. You wont be dissapointed with either.

They are all just as good as the other. Its all about personal preference. I love my GTR. For what I do, I couldnt ask for anything better. The Pro Drive is also an awesome machine. They all do what they are made to do, they all get stuck and sometimes they all break. You need to get demos, test drive and buy what ya like.

Re: New need help choosing a motor
As far as horsepower, get the biggest available. That would be 35 for GTR or 36 for Pro Drive.

Re: New need help choosing a motor
approximate weight is 245 lbs. straight off of their website.......see below link: http://www.gator-tail.com/motors.htmljust note that there is a 20 lbs difference between their smaller motor (23 hp and their 35 hp) so if you did go with a smaller motor you are not saving much weight, not enough to make a difference anyway.
