This would be pretty sweet if I only used my boat for duck hunting... http://www.gatortraxboats.com/Gator%20Hide.htm

Re: Gator Hide???
depending on how your boat layout is you can make your own removable gatorhide blind
best to have a pretty open floorplan so you can stretch out width of the boat
made a prototype out of simple electric conduit for two people to hunt out of...hardest part is enough material or whatever you wanna use to cover it good but it does work and is nice when you water is too deep to use a layout blind
Works best to be in an area that does have some cover already instead of just stoppin in middle of lake and settin up and expectin birds not to flare
pics were taken at the end of hunt so lots of the natural cover had fallen off from getting in and out of the boat

Re: Gator Hide???
Anybody hunt out of one of these where it gets cold, I'm talking 20's, not 50's.
Seems to me it wouldn't be worth a crap in my neck o' the water.

Re: Gator Hide???
yeah i have a 3-man, and you can hide it anywhere. you cant beat the "hideability" of the boat. i also use it to gig/ bow fish, i have two drop in front decks that make the whole front of the boat a solid platform (its a huge area for a 16' boat, have 3 guys up front fishin easily. Also, when you take the pop-up doors out its like a regular boat with two benches in it and a raised front deck. On a cold day you CANT beat it, first it brushes up in about 1 min and your fingers arent goin numb jackin with a pop up blind. your out of the wind and put a heater down below and you can get that thing cookin, like take your coat off in 30 degree weather cookin!
NEGATIVE: the boat is heavy and while it drafts little due to its width and the hunt deck (the back swim platform thinggy) it needs a big motor on it to get the speeds i want. 45mb would be the smallest i'd get but inorder to do high 20's with a load your gonna want a 35 (whatever) with a stage 3.
I'll have mine at caddo if you wana kick the tires.

Re: Gator Hide???
I don't know man, I just can't see laying on the floor of a boat all day with little room to move compared to the comfort of a hardsided blind. I can also see where it would have its advantages though, wouldn't catch the wind like my blind. Tell ya what, tug 'er on up to pool 13 late November this fall and I'll give it a whirl. MitchV; Huntin divers on Pepin I'm sure but any puddler water on that pool? Not that I got a problem with divers, generally I find them more accomadating than the snobish greenhead. Only thing I've done on Pepin is chase 'eyes and empty a few Miller Lite cans.

You need to see one they have ample room. there is no dividers/ walls on the under side so you got a huge open area to have shells food, heaters, drinks, shells..................whatever.
here some pics form their web site, my sales pitch is over, i guess its not for everyone but if you got the cash to put a big motor on it, its tuff to beat (i think)

Re: Gator Hide???
I had one
1. Most comfortable set up I ever had and warm in the cold 2. Takes lots of power to move it around 3. Drafts very shallow water. 4. VERY Heavy 5. Wet ride when wind picks up. 6. Fast hull once on plain.

Re: Gator Hide???
Also get the 32 inch outdrive from MB with motor to fix hole shot with a load. I had a guy that is offensive tackle in the NFL in mine and he was very comfortable.
