 vacation pay in LA?
Thought I would ask a question here if nothing else to kind of rant so forgive me now if this goes south... I resigned from my last job in April of this year and my former employer refuses to pay me my 2 weeks paid vacation pay. To make a long story short the company i was working for was in major financial trouble and a guy came into the company, opened another company name up and took over the business. Bunch of bad business going on there and allot of people like myself bailed out. I asked one of the guys that left like a week before me and he was paid his vacation time. I met with the guy that took over today and he basically told me tough crap he was not paying me. Well after some not so nice things being said back to him from me...i know not professional like but I really could have kicked his BEEP and felt good about it, he told me that if I tried to take him to court he would counter sue me. What in the heck could he sue me for? Sorry for the rant...I just hate that some people feel that business has to mean that someone gets screwed. A win win is always the best way to conduct business IMO.

 Re: vacation pay in LA?
Don't mean to be rude, but if one of my employees quit and then later asked for his paid vacation, well I would tell him to kindly fu<k off.

 Re: vacation pay in LA?
If you have a set vacation due to salary he may not have to pay... if you are with a company that you accrued vacation per the amount of hours you worked he may have to pay.... I have never been in your situation exactly, but every company I worked for was a company in which I accrued vacation based on hours worked and they were required to pay me those accrued vacation hours.
If your former company had a employee handbook or employee rights and privledges document it should be clearly stated in that document what you are entitled to after termination be it you leave or get fired... should be spelled out for you.
