 Re: GT in the veggies
well the gt isn't balanced. it's like an outboard it only kicks up when somethings hit so it does very well.

 Re: GT in the veggies
I had some pics posted on the old MMT website from Spring Bayou last year, but can't figure out how to post it here. We were in the veggies something thick, and the GT has no problem staying down in the veggies. Also, take a look at last year's LA Mud Run. Were in some thick veggies there also.

 Re: GT in the veggies
My GT hold it's own in da thick veggies. This is probably the thickest I've put it through yet. And while I did make it through I'll be honest I fought it.

 Re: GT in the veggies
The main problem I had with my old gdsd35 was vegitation builing up around the prop and cav plate. The motor would stay down, but would clog up and you had to lift it up to clear it....it pretty much sucked. By the way... my gdsd35 is still for sale.

 Re: GT in the veggies
Got a GD dealer less than 3 miles from the house. But with no reverse, no nuetral, and having to battle that beast in the weeds, I'm not laying down my cash on a SD. GT does not have a dealer in Florida and I'm looking for a GT owner in Central Florida to take a drive?

 Re: GT in the veggies
Cavalry member #1 here. LOL I agree that gatortails are much better suited for the veggies but in small buyous with a lot of cypress knees, the GDSD is the shiat. GT can definately handle some weeds though!!!

 Re: GT in the veggies
from the pics above im impressed, i had figured only a mudboat or airboat would make it through that thick of vegatation without having to fight the whole way......hard to drink a dixie when ur standing up trying to beat the motor every inch of it's life. very impressive pics

 Re: GT in the veggies
Boat hulls make a big difference. Wide bottom boats can't compete in thick vegetation with the narrower boats. Less surface area = less friction.

 Re: GT in the veggies
like ddm said im just north of pcola. if your ever down this way give me a call and id be happy to show you what a gt will do. i think you would be happy with it in most situations. i use mine to hunt fish gig flounder ride kids or whatever. my boat is 1660 and this is perfect for me but if i run veggies all the time i would go narrower.

 Re: GT in the veggies
hey, don't care what u buy, but before u buy a gatortail, make sure u go demo a prodrive. $7000 is alot of dukies, so go test drive them all. u deserve what u get if u don't.
