 gatortail ??
Called up gatortail and talked to hoyt to find out a little more on their motors. He tells me that I can't buy a modded motor new and they only offer a cdi motor now, kinda acted like he didn't wanna do any mods to it and that I could call mudbuddy and order parts. Said they will only mod a used motor and that I would have to buy a stock motor and use it for a little bit and that i could bring it back and have mods done. A stock motor will not cut it for what i want and this makes it kind of difficult for a person financing wanting to buy a modded motor. So I call back a little later and ask lisa if they could atleast add the parts in on the order so I would have only one loan and she informs me that gt isn't even offering mods at this time. So basically if I want a modded gt I will have to do it myself and void the motor warranty or take it to someone else and hope that they offer a motor warranty. Just curious as why gt doesn't offer a modded motor with waranty brand new and only offer a cdi engine. Seems they don't give you any choices for a new motor.

 Re: gatortail ??
can't speak for gt. but once a engine has mods dun to it the briggs warranty is void. in the past briggs over looked a lot of the mods but with the increase of these engines in the mm world and i'am sure the warranty claims and the economy has them back tracking. mudbuddy's warranty on a modded engine such as cams rods pistons is their own in house warranty. i once was a field service rep. and now do warranty work in shop on these engines. i can tell you for a fact most field reps will kick out a claim even if they see a carb mod. i'am sure that they can build in the cost of your mods in the price of the package. buy the parts and install em.

 Re: gatortail ??
f-250 becareful with your factory briggs warranty. all it takes is a service tech to walk in on the warranty claim and game could be over. i would recommend u who ever u buy from have them explain the warranty they will be giving u thiers or briggs. like i said things are changing. and u might want it in writing.

 Re: gatortail ??
ducaholic briggs techs are not at every warranty claim. way to many repair centers doing work for them. alot of wool has been pulled over thier eyes in the past and also today. if u don't believe me on warranty issues call up briggs regonional repair centers and ask them for your self. i can tell u for a fact if sum one called in and asked if 35 hp motor with a carb mod and a gov. block off. was covered under warranty what that answer would be. ask them if your heads would be covered with a cam change and it breaks out the rocker arm pockets. i under wrote millions of warranty claims back in the day. i couldn't over see them all.

Call Kelly at Neches FCU in Port Neches. She's very helpful. If means anything, my wife is a manager for Capital One Bank and all of my loans are at Neches. Just too easy to deal with them. Tell Kelly that Robert with the Gator Tail boat told you to call.

Buy a used engine with the mods you want or by a stock used engine and parts to mod, call me and we'll install one weekend in my shop... We could make it a little gathering and invite others to help. Might be fun. I did my heads and cam myself. If I can do that anyone can.

 Re: gatortail ??
Would GTR install a 45MAG from BPS on their frame and sell it as new? That would get u a 1 year warranty, a modded motor, and a new rig together?

 Re: gatortail ??
Easiest way i found to do it is figure your total cost maybe shoot 100-200 over and take out a signature loan, let them cut you a check or deposit it in your account and go buy everything that you need, once you receive the title take it to the bank and transfer it over to a lean, give up the title and wah-laaa you have a brand new modded 35GTR with the bank holding the title with your low interest rate that you speak of. This is exactly what i did because i took out a lump some for a custom built boat a GTR and trailer with the camo paint job and my well most of them anyway, then once i received the titles in the mail to everything i took them to the bank and had them transfer it from a signature loan to a regular Credit Union loan. This should help, that way you can have all your modds with paying cash no questions asked

 Re: gatortail ??
Brooks what I posted is exactly what I was told. Im not trying to start no chit for gatortail and have no reason too because im looking into buying one of their motors. When I talked to hoyt he said a used motor only no way on a new one. I called back about atleast trying to add the parts in on the order and lisa told me that they aren't even offering mods at this time. That's what I was told and that's not a remake on words. Im just mainly concerned with how some that have been through this already got theirs the way they wanted and what they had to do.
Take em that's what im looking into today thanks for mentioning it.

a wise man once told me years ago and it's always stuck with me............."never finance a toy", if ya can't pay for it outright, ya don't need it IMO
Also look at it from GT's point of view, they are sellin stock motors like hot cakes. Why deal with the more finicky and often abused modded crowd? Its like lookin for a black eye

 Re: gatortail ??
As long as it is coming from a non title state and you have all your paperwork, TX will issue a title for it. I know this because I took possession of my Dad's rig, and they don't do title's in GA either. It was pretty painless.

 Re: gatortail ??
Gator Tail issues a title and if its a custom boat and your builder does not have a HIN you will have to have boat inspected by GW and they will assign a HIN to your hull.
