Post Oil coming out of vavle cover vent tube
This my first post I think but I have a prob. I bought a BPS Mukuni single kit and it didn't come with any kind of adapter for the valve cover vent. My prob is that it is now leaking oil from the vent tube not like alittle oil but enough to make me worry. I talked to a guy at BPS and he said it sounded like a head gasket but I just find it hard to beleive cause it was fine before when it was running striaght to the stock intake. Any input or questions will be greatly appericated. Boat runs fine 4300-4400 rpms the other day but just leaking oil.

They will do that when it is hot and the motor is working hard. Especially at those rpms.

yes hot conditions will effect blow by. but if you have oil running out of breather tube like u said i think u need to do a leak down it will tell if u have bad rings bad gasket set and other conditions. your blow by might have always been there. with the old carb u were pulling the blow by back into the engine through the air cleaner plate. a over filled oil condition can also cause high blow by conditions and cause excessive vac. readings.

Blown head gasket, or leaking valve stem seals are what I have found to be the most common causes of this. However as others have pointed out, on exceptionally hot days very slight seepages will come out of that tube.

Well I did the leak down test and the vent side head had air coming through the bottom of the head guessing the oil drain holes it also has only 80 psi of compression. The fill caps side is fine no leaks or any thing it has 120psi of compression. So head gasket or rings I guess?

If you did a true leak down test what was the percentage of leakage on the gauge?
