I am gonna purchase a motor from outta town ( way outta town) so I am gonna have to have the motor shipped to me. I have never done anything like this at all. How do yall go about sending the guy the money and him shipping the motor and all and releasing the money for the motor arrives? I know its a dumb one, but I have never done anything like this. Thanks fellas.

Its gonna be from an individual..not a company. And the ride is gonna be probably close to 13 hours or so with gas $3.50 a gallon.......gonna try to do what I can to keep from that happening.

Yea the drive is out of the question. Idk, My opinion would be to just keep looking or order one threw a dealer. You never know who to trust these days bud.

Do a search on here I remember people having them shipped and the cost wasn't all that bad!!

My GTR shipped from Louisiana to North Carolina for 275 bucks. I sent them a certified check printed to them from the bank, but they're a dealer. In your case I would use paypal in case he renigs.

Individual... I would call a title company & put the money in an escrow account. Same principal as PayPal but I would put that motor into a simple contract. If the guy is serious he won't mind it.

I have sold and shipped two mudmotors clear across the country. The guys sent me checks and I sent the motors. No problem. I guess the buyers had a good feel for my integrity via my presence and posts on various duck hunting websites and took a chance. It worked out for them.

I might feel different if I was a buyer and didn't know the seller...had found the motor on craigslist or something.

And in both cases I shipped the motor via http://www.uship.com.

I sold & shipped 2 motors. One to Arkansas & one to South Carolina. Both sent by a freight company for around $300. Think we used paypal both times.

I would make him meet me in the middle, sick feeling to know you got TOOK . lots of crooked people out there. ive driven farther than that to buy and to sell. if hes serious, he will meet you.

Personally i don't buy USED stuff site unseen now if it were a dealer that would be a different story
