Post BGE
never heard of a BGE until I read a few post and decided to see what it was all about. Didn't take long to figgure out it ment "By God Expensive".

I like to do a little smokin and bbqin myself but is the differenc in price over a nice steel pit worth it.

I also see where there are a couple of different brands of the eggs.

Let's see. I had a BBQ pit, a smoker, and a gas grill I used to cook on. I replaced all 3 at my house with the BGE and do everything I could do with all 3 plus more on the BGE. 100% worth the money.

Anywhere you can get a used one?

What about the knock offs? I saw a Bayou classic copy that was about $200 cheaper

Put a 'wanted' ad on craigslist or other local media. As mentioned earlier they are worth every penny. I cook on mine five to six times a week.

On rare occasion you can find one for sale that is used, but the fact of the matter is that once people get one, they hang on to it. Most of the used ones that I have seen for sale have been the medium sized from people moving up to a large.

Check the BGE website for EggFests in your area. They will demo ones there that they sell after the event -- but you better get in line early because folks know about this and place their reservations the day the event is announced.
