Post heads?
been looking at doing heads and wanted some input on what seams to work and what does not. Iv got a guy that can do anything to the heads that I want him to, now i just need to know what to tell him to do. the motor is a stock 2011 36hp pro drive. I would also like to get a exhaust, the exhaust doesn't have to be the loudest by any means i just want a exhaust that will help my motor.

Questions,
what do I tell the guy to do to my heads? tell it to me like you would tell it to him.
port and polish,
install stainless steal valves,
and take how much off ?
lapping?

what exhaust would be a good one? I'm not looking to be the loudest, just wanting good performance.
is the BPS Q a good one?

also, my prop is pretty worn, I can always run 4100 rpms even when i trim down a lot. after i get a exhaust and heads and kn air filter, what prop should i get? should i go with the stock prodrive prop? 12-12 or go to something else?
thanks guys
Ray

Deck my heads .050" Then raise the valves .030", There is alot of clearence btwn the valve and piston. The net effect on the rocker is only .020" So there are lots of threads left for adjustment.

Talking apples and oranges! I am talking valve clearances. You are talking valve lash. I set valve lash to .005” which is a middle of the road setting.

Search "valve lash" in the engine forum. Lots of discussion around this in there.

Get a carb bracket from Autogateman.

the only thing that really holds the carb on is the rubber boot and a hose clamp.

If you run stumps, you will need some form of a bracket to hold that sucker on.

This is how mine is nig rigged. Hasnt come off since.

First pic is a mudbuddy 5500 application and the second one is on my GTR 35, both are the same setup. I broke my first carb support and if not put on right you can easily put them in a bind.....has saved me a lot of headache when hitting big obstacles underwater that use to knock my carb off. I have a thicker bracket now which is what Rod(autogateman) is selling in his kits.

You won't regret it, it can only help your motor.
