Post what engine for frame?
I have a 25hp gdlt that has been giving me nothing but problems lately. Had the carb cleaned out about 5hrs ago and it ran good but now cuts off when it gets over half throttle. It starts to bog down and chokes itself out then backfires. Im wanting to put a new engine on the frame and get rid of the 25. My question is what is the largest engine that I could put on it and what brand would you reccomend? It currently has a kohler but I've looked at the generac 33. Just want to know what would be the best option. Its currently on a 1542 war eagle and when its running right it runs 20.8 with just me. Any input would be appreciated.

You could put a generac on it or a briggs, whatever you want to do. Sounds to me like your carb is dirty though.

Oh, I don't know what will fit on that frame man. Have to call Coco. I know the engines will fit, but not sure if the shaft and whatnot can handle the extra HP.

I still say you have shit in your carb. I know you cleaned it, but that's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Someone chime in if Im wrong, You can't put a big block Briggs or Genny on that frame without some modifications.
The shaft height of the 27 is 5 1/4" vs the big blocks wich are 7 1/2"

Also, I'm pretty sure the large lt props are 7/8 threaded and not 3/4 threaded.
This would mean a new shaft, seals, and bushings.

Shaft height may be different woodie. I though the genny was the same as the kohler, but that may not be correct. I thought the bolt pattern was the same also.

I stand corrected, Briggs, Genny, and Kohler are all 6 1/8"

I got the 5 1/4" from Briggs and Honda small blocks, dunno where I picked up the 7 1/2" :?

So what would be a good option where I wouldnt have to do any modifications to the frame? I would like the most HP I can get with out modding the frame. Motor? H.P.?
