16 hp duromax won't shut off.
Ok so. Just got my new 16 hp duromax took me a while to wire up the starter but finally got I to fire up an was able to turn the key off to shut down the motor. But now I fire it up and try to turn the key off and it will not shut off. So I just turn the fuel shut off valve. Does anyone know what the heck this is ? I think I have it wired up right but does anyone have any pictures of the wiring of there electric starter???

I'll check that tonight jp. that wiring diagram they sent was a joke. Is there anyway you could post a picture of the wiring on your motor? Thanks for the help

I had the exact same issue. I called MaxTool and they said one of the diodes in the switch box must be bad. They sent me an entirely new switch box for free. Thats what I'd do if I were you.

Re: 16 hp duromax won't shut off.
yea ground to switch, bad switch, or your terminal ground wire has a bad connection. chase the wire that goes to the low oil, engine level sensor, all will connect and go to coil pack. diodes? what in the world would a kill circuit use a diode for? those switches have three positions, normal closed "off", normal open "on" and normal open hot to solenoid "start". those switches run the charge coil back to the switch to the hot on the starter which in turn runs back to the battery. that circuit has a diode, but it will not make the motor not shut off.
