 Re: Choupic
I cut one up for bait one time (ok mainly cause I was pissed cause he ripped my cast net all to shit), and the meat looked just like catfish. I got a buddy that eats the heck out of 'em. Grenil's we call 'em.

 Re: Choupic
Damn- even the black folks throw grinnel back or up on the bank in TN. Yall coonasses will eat anything. I've never tried it personally but was told they taste like cottonballs soaked in creosote.

 Re: Choupic
We've got Chinese Snakehead fish and grendels. They look a lot alike. Apparently the snakeheads eat up pretty well. I know they'll beat a pearl Bandit 100 all to pieces.

 Re: Choupic
The Game and fish people are worried about the snakeheads. With the Potomac being such a great bass fishery, and the money from fisherman they do not want a competitor. If you catch one, you a required by law to kill it immediately. We've got those Mute Swans also. Maryland had them protected for a while cause of the lesbian treehumpers. We killed a bunch one year with #4 buckshot. Damn they thump when they hit the ground. Steel bounces off.

 Re: Choupic
I'm sorry, I can't let this continue. Maybe it's the beer, or the courage you have right after taking the skin boat to tuna town, but I've lived in South LA my entire life and we have always considered that a colored man's fish. When something tastes bad, we compare it to tasting like choupic. Maybe I'm a snob, it could be really good but I will have to take y'alls word for it.
And I know I'm going to hurt a lot of people's feelings in here, including Capt. John, but the same goes for Pouldeau (Coot). I think I'm getting soft the older I get. I tried to shoot some recently, even lined up my gun barrel with about 4 in a row ready to shoot. All of a sudden I felt like Lebron James about reject Corky in a Special Olympics basketball game. One of those nasty rejections that go 10 rows up in the stands, where the Ref ends the game because it doesn't really matter what the score is after that. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I knew I wasn't going to eat them anyway, although the guy cane pole fishing back at the boat launch sure would have.
Now when I see guys at the landing proudly showing off a pile of black nasty, I do the sportsman like thing and tell them good job, but I feel like Lebron's teammate giving him a high five after destroying that poor kid's dream.

 Re: Choupic
I hear them choupic's taste good if you cook em rite. I hear ya gotta have te grease hot when you pull em out the wata though. As for them poul deau's, I shoot em cause I like cleaning them They dont go to waste though, they go to them people that stand me up on hunting trips that been planned for months, but always want to know "man when you gonna give me some ducks?" I usually hold out till I can sway for some backstrap though
