brand new with about five hrs on it. changed the oil for a second time and i can smell fuel in the oil. rings still not seated yet or what? its not thinning the oil really or over filling the crank case. what gives?

Im assuming you have the tank on the engine and not remote fuel, its happening going down the road and not on the water. When your trailer is bouncing around and your fuel is left on the float bounces and with a gravity fed tank your crankcase will fill with gas. Just remember to always shut your gas off and the problem will go away. Good luck.
