 Mikuni users?
Finally getting some off time to work on motor. In the process of sending heads to Cody for some of that pixie dust that he sprinkled on Will. The stock air intake is in closed and somewhat weather proof. How does the mikuni work in the rain with basically a dust shield over the air filter?

 Re: Mikuni users?
the pre-filter is treated with some kind of silicone that makes it waterproof. If/when the water stops beading on it, I've heard to either spray it with WD-40 or some kind of silicone spray, or replace it. when I'm hunting or its tied up at the dock or on the trailer at the camp, I usually cover the entire engine with a round (think Weber style) BBQ pit cover from walmart that are about $5 (I throw a sheet of grass over it when hunting). When its on the trailer I cover it with a 100MPH cover.

 Re: Mikuni users?
When I bought mine it came with an outerwears cover which is supposed to be waterproof. I have been in some pretty heavy rain with it and didn't have any problems.

 Re: Mikuni users?
I've been thinking of different things to put over it that will be cheap. So far I have been caught in a couple of downpours and haven't had an issue with the little skirt on it. I used camp dry as well and seems to work just fine. Just for trailering in the rain or storage, a sandwhich bag fits the filter perfectly. No offense to BoatDr but I can't see the price on his rain guards just yet but still on the fence, may end up doing it more for protecting the carb from brush pulling it off. You will be pleased with Cody's work.

I spray mine with McGuire's tire wet, works perfect, i have ran mine in a down pour coming from duck hunting before and never got a drop in the carb.

Corrosion-X on mine seems to be workin' fine and I been wondering about it too, cause I think I've been rained on at least once a day for a month now.267.JPG
