Do a search for hid. Chico wrote a step by step for converting some halogens to hid. Just got through making a set last weekend and they are definitely bright. Cost a total of $88.

Re: Best and Brightest Offroad Lights for Hunting Boat
You said best and brightest. So to me that means no cutting corners and no taking shortcuts which is what you would do if you chose to go with HID to "save a few bucks". While there is nothing wrong with going with what you can afford and your budget dictates....you asked for best and brightest.

Re: Best and Brightest Offroad Lights for Hunting Boat
I just mounted a Q-beam magnet mount 250,000 candle power flood light on front of the bow. I took off the magnet and drill and tapped the aluminum piece the magnet screwed into. The drilled and tapped the bracket on the now. I ran a stainless 1/4 x 20 threaded bolt and it mounted very solid. It's plugged into an outlet on the bow and wire to a switch in the control panel. $44

Re: Best and Brightest Offroad Lights for Hunting Boat
I got a D2 set and a Dually spot. Same price as a bar but brighter combo with the option to use certain lights. Spot or driving.

Re: Best and Brightest Offroad Lights for Hunting Boat
I'm glad you guys are enjoying the lights! I'm going on three seasons now without an issue and it's cheaper to build them now than when I first made them. Thanks!
