Gator Tail..Hard to TURN, help me GatorTail Users.
Just bought my first gatortail 2 weeks ago.. running it on a 17ft 6in. x 48 uncle J..set up for GT.. Love the motor other than the fact it is so hard to turn while running medium to wide open throttle or when ANY weight is shifted to one side of the boat!!! I'm a big built guy and not bein a p***y but I figured it would be alot easier to drive than this..it's almost like driving a long tail.. take note, it is a used motor..only 18 hours on motor..when purchased, 23 on it now.. is this just the nature of the gator tail? if so when are they coming out with power or hydralic steering for tiller handle?! LOL

It's all about the boat!! Get your loads or what's ever in your boat situated. Do you sit on a seat built on the side of the boat!!

If its harder to turn one way and less the other way, bend the tab on the skeg towards the side that its hard to turn on........I think

you have to get the weight right in the boat and you can bend the skag opposite the way shes pulling to take some torgue off the tiller if its trimed down to much it will do that too.

Try moving your motor one way or the other about an inch...worked well for me.

I have no trouble at all turning my Longtail.
Get your weight set right
