my question is if a cam worth putting on.
35hp single carb, heads, duel exhaust on 16x50 tims flat running 29-30mph

Haha no man and I'm not lying either, the boat is light and when I put weight in the boat it doesn't really change the speed but everyone tells me the next step for an upgrade is a cam so I just wanted to know if its worth it

A performance cam isn't really going to effect your motor longevity. If your speed doesn't decrease significantly with a load, chances are you won't see a huge change from the cam. If your undecided wait till your case gasket leaks and you have to tear down your motor to go ahead and install one. It's only a matter of time...

How many RPMs are you turning to run those speeds? If you are able to get to max RPM making those speeds, the cam may not make a difference in speed unless you change prop pitch. It should however make it plane faster...
