 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Good assumption ass. It was a new outboard that ran like a champ with a lowered pitch ta try ta get on plane. My buds 1748 flat bottom excel is a piece a shot too. Drafts a shit ton a water as well and is heavy ass hell compared ta other brands. After 2 years he's decided ta get rid a it. He got robbed too. It's a shit company that makes a shit product. Do you ever stop trying ta defend em??? Are they paying ya? Sure seems like it.
Keep drinkin the koolaid.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Used ta be my neighbor. He's a good feller. Just has a shitty boat lol! He's on the Fuge and other forums as well. Nothin ta hide. His words were "my boat drafts too much and is way too heavy."
Ya may think its funny how I spell. I think it's funny how ya contradict yourself.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
How am I contradicting myself? By having a boat that I actually enjoy running? A boat that is holding up nicely when the masses on here say its shit? Hey I've never once went against anyone saying the CS sucks ass just like anything else Foreman owns.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Phuck excel biggest piece of shit ever! Haha jk im gettin a kick outa this. My excel turned awesome. Drafted hardly any water. I just had a .100 gauge hull. It sucked for what i did. I was hard on it. Im sure if it was the 125 gauge hull id still have mine. But i wouldnt even think bout buyin another .100 gauge boat of any brand.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Cheer leading fer excel but sayin yer wishin ya woulda gone with gator trax. There's a fair amount a contradiction there considerin GT is a far superior product.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Not cheerleading shit. When I bought my excel I thought I would use the gun box and other storage. That is not the case. I said gtraxx because you have options for layouts. As far as superior goes, Im quite confident my Excel is better than your alumaweld or whatever you run.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Actually it's not. It's the reason I switched to em. A lot cheaper and the custom options are way better. Plus I saved 200 lbs. in weight with the same hull thickness and gained 3 more feet a boat which I now only draft 1/3 a what I did. To each there own. My point is don't attack me fer my opinion or my experience with a shitty boat or fer that matter a friend of mine's experience. And don't attack me fer tellin the OP that he's searching fer what he wants ta hear as I proved in a prior post. Enjoy yer POS if ya want to. I could care less if ya choose ta run that crap and support a jackass by givin him yer money by buyin his shit.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
So my boat is a POS. I have .125 bottom. You bought another .100 gauge boat? That's smart. And how am I attacking you? Im just stating you ran the wrong hull on a mm. Point blank. Dont get so defensive. Its just the internet.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
Bottom line seems to be:
Customer service sucks, EVERYONE seems to agree on that one.
Some people like them.
Some people think they are a big POS.
Of the few who like them, looking back on it most would have preferred to go with something else and probably won't buy another.
Kinda sounds like a gd, other than the CS part of it...

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
To the OP:
I'm an Excel owner and I love mine. I purchased a .125 1754 F4 SW with a MB 4200 in July. I've only got 10 hours on it but I love it. It's a dream.
Runs 28 mph, cuts on a dime. It looks sick and I get a ton of compliments and looks at the ramp
I'll admit the customer service is not the best. They're a small company with too little staff to handle their demand. However, everyone I've dealt with there was friendly.
Something to consider, Excel was an aluminum fishing boat company. Glen & MudBuddy only purchased Excel 4 years ago. I think everyone agrees that initially their duck boat quality was sub par. However, people that truly know will tell you they have made HUGE strides in quality in the last 4 years, and they are only getting better.
Most guys here on MMT hate Excel & MudBuddy and run it down all the time.
Just take it all with a grain of salt.
I have buddies who run Gator Trax boats and GT motors, & ProDrives, etc. They all have their issues and warranty items.

 Re: EXCEL 18X54 -
I have an 1851 swf4 with a 36hp PRODRIVE. All the PRODRIVE has on it is the marshmellow double barrel. Empty I'm running 25-27. This past weekend we hunted the Mississippi with a big swell. 3 guys camping equipment coolers guns, dekes extra gas I name it. We prolly ran about 15 up river on plane. Now I'm not worried about speed. But boat carried a huge load a long way on plane and was super stable on the nastiest river around us. Plane and simple I'm happy. As for the gun box. We had 3 jackets 3 chairs netting AND 3 guns in it. So if someone says u can only get 2 guns in it you must really suck at Tetris. I have few flooded timber spots but have ran in about 4 inches of rocky bottom and never touched. The boat runs in mud pretty well and hasent had one issue jumping levees. It's .100 ga. And I try to take it easy and not drive like a nut job. I have nothing to prove as long as I can get to my duck holes kill my limit and get back then I'm pretty sure my limit is as good as anyone's 6 ducks. There are better boats out there but I love my excel
