Hey all,
Going to have a boat built for me in the early spring time next year. Not 100% sure who will be building the boat but that doesnt matter right now. Thanks to MMT I have decided to not go with a mud motor set up but will have the boat built by someone in the mud motor game.
This boat will be used for running around with the family and having fun, crabbing and fishing. I wont be hunting from it and may not even use it to run out to my duck blinds.
What would you add, what would you put on this boat?

20' aluminum boat and hunt deck (or whatever a company may call it)
(unsure to go with a flat bow or a pointed one, I like the looks of the flat much better)
At least 24" sides
at least 72" wide
150 Merc on a jackplate
hydro steering
Center console (really like the one gatortail has in some pics on their XL series)
front deck flush with the sides
8" cat walks all the way around, flush with the sides/rear/front deck(open underneath, not boxed out)
Hydro turf everywhere
Natgear camo paint job and clear coated
some type of seat/leaning set up for when running the boat
seats for passengers
large screen fish finder/gps unit (suggestions?)
LED lights inside and out (possibly under the cat walks as well)
rod holders
radio/ipod player and speakers (suggestions?)
some type of VHF radio (suggestions?)
An attachment for pulling the nieces on tubes/rafts etc (need help on this)

I am sure I am forgetting something but what would you add and what would you suggest?

tunnel hull. i assume a hydraulic jack plate?

If your not running shallow water, then there is no need for a tunnel. Hydro Jackplate is a must. Even not running shallow water it is Very Nice.

Fusion do a marine audio in ip 67 enclosures so you can drown them and listen to the sounds under water. They also dock ipod internally.
Must have can holders. Lots of can holders

Jump seats are nice cause they fold out of the way when u not using them. Will this be v bottom or Will it have a pad like a bass boat? How thick Will the aluminum be?

How bout a live well and removeable lights for night fishing

I plan on having LED lights inside and out on this boat.

Havent thought of a livewell yet.....may try and keep it an open floor plan and use coolers for bait and another for keeping the catch cold.

I would go atleast 20-30 gallon

I say 3/16" bottom minimum. Most of your commercial grade boats (scully,hanko , gaudets , ect ) are 3/16" or 1/4" bottom. V Will be better,drier ride then flat, but a pad hull Will give you better performance because it Will allow the boat to lift. All depends on what u wanna accomplish with this rig. Sounds like u got a nice one in the works, good luck and post sum pics when u get goin.

Trolling motor mount.
Run a 2 inch pipe from back to center and back to front for additional wires later.

Might give some thought as to mounting hardware for a canopy/Bimini top. Or a couple of holes to stick a beach umbrella in.

I would put a polling platform on the back. You can use it to put your generator on when you are bowfishing.
