worse year in 35 years hunting hopedale la/need help
I have never seen fewer ducks!!!!! I have made 3 hunts and have only killed a total of 13 ducks ( I have seen more geese over head than ducks, we almost never see geese). I need a place where I can spend a week camping and kill a few birds. Haven't been to the wax in 25 years, is it holding birds. Never hunted wisner does it hold any birds. Any wma in north La that holds birds.
Thanks for any help

Check out Boeuf WMA. Good camping ground at Ft. Necessity Hwy 4. There's a green tree area as well as good Walk in places off the Boeuf River if you've got a boat.

Boeuf hasn't done shit this year, more people than hunters.
We have been having a sub-par season in NLA

No, the mallards have definitely made it down to south LA. But they aren't in Hopedale.
There are Ducks in Boeuf, but you have to scout hard. The same can be said for Buckhorn, Russell Sage, D'arbonne, and Felthsensal. Go scout. If it was easy it would be called Your Mom.

Re: worse year in 35 years hunting hopedale la/need help
This is the first year in a very long time, I have had to stray from my home range. Issac really screwed up what was looking to be a good season. There were two hunts this season I did not even see a duck , nothing for miles around. I got to go west or north, not enough feed in the marsh to hold birds. A few birds show up with the fronts but don"t stay. The WMA in the south east are not doing much and the better parts of the area's are off limits to 35 hp sd. I got a sprinter van set up for camping so I can do rv parks, tent and camping gear if I need it. a 17x52 with a 35 gdsd built like a surfboard with a semi layout blind on top. I can set up for just about any type of hunting. I like marsh hunting. I just need a location with a few ducks in the area. I am out of town to the 6th or so then I can hunt from the 10th to the end of the season. I got window of a week to 10 days to save this season.
This ain't about me being to lazy to scout, I am thinking I need to get a couple hundred miles from here to get away from this storm damage.
mallards would be great, In 35 years of hunting the south east, I have only killed 2 greenheads we don't see them often in the open marsh.
PM me with the info , I can understand not wanting to put it on the web. Everytime the paper had something about hopedale or reggio holding birds , I had every want to be duckhunter from the city trying to poach on my lease.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
