Is it possible to flip on a slide?
I've had my 1846 GTB (no hunt deck) with 35GTR for about a month now I often find myself hauling az into little round lakes about 2 inches deep with thick mud trying to circle the lake and get back out with out getting off a plane most of the time I get into a good slide where i've had the side of my boat going forward. I know this is common and gasing it helps its pretty similar to an airboat slide but my question is if I cut it hard while sliding like that in my narrow boat is there a chance it my flip over I seen the video of some guys doing donuts in theres but they got a little wider boats and with a hunt deck and I've yet to see anyone do it will cruising along.

I guess it's possible to flip the boat in a slide, but unlikely. But, the boat will bite in a slide and throw your ass clean out. Ask me how I know lol.

Yeah if the boat ever catches an edge she will instantly stop that slide and inertia takes over for everything in the boat. it hurts and is never fun.

I've done it. Threw myself clean over the tiller handle, yet somehow my dog stayed on the front deck... **Sent from my Obama Phone**

Anything is possible......chances increase on biting or flipping in deepwater.

Re: Is it possible to flip on a slide?
Thanks I thought so glad someone had experience with it. It definetly feels like it could. I sall westendanglers YouTube video with a couple guys doing do nuts but they all started slow and had either a hunt deck or a little wider boat than a 1846 I don't know if mine could do that.

Re: Is it possible to flip on a slide?
why not slow down and turn around...if you loose forward motion, back up and then jump on plane again.....no reason to throw yourself out of the boat unless you just like hauling ass....also on narrower boats step over to the inside gutter, it will lean the boat and prevent it from catapaulting you out and may even grab better and make the turn.....

Re: Is it possible to flip on a slide?
Threw a friend out of my old CJ7 doing do-nuts by the river years ago. He refused to wear his seatbelt. Thought he could just hold onto the grab bar. He was fine. Not sure, but I think he feels differently about seatbelts these days

Re: Is it possible to flip on a slide?
Ya I have hunted with his guides a few times. He leases out pierce ranch a few of my buddies are farmers in wharton so we hunt around pierce ranch mostly and this year with the lack of rice planted due to the drought and people in austin griping that lake travis is getting to low for their jetskis the rice crop was cut down to basically seed rice. So we have been doing pretty good since the birds are forced to roost on the ranch and go land in fields we can hunt and along the river which is public to.

Re: Is it possible to flip on a slide?
I brought 50 gallons of water in the boat recently doing an accidental slide.....and yes, I literally shot a nugget in my drawers. I dont like sliding in deep water...
Craig can contest when I initially got my 1860...it will slide in deep water with me driving with 1 minute of experience with a flat smooth bottom boat...lol
