 Coyote Problem!!
With all the dogs that have been going missing, just putting out a warning!!
I was woke up at 2 a.m. by a pack of coyotes in my yard. They were raising hell to say the least. i ran outside with 3 buckshots loaded up and let em have it! I didn't find any dead but i know i peppered some.
Anyway my dog is in a kennel under my carport and i have muscovy's in a pen in my yard also. I leave my dogs food next to his kennel, which i will now be picking up everynight.
Just a warning if your animals are not protected the coyotes will be getting bad this time of year hunting for food.

 Re: Coyote Problem!!
For those of you that are into calling coyotes I've found something that works for the ones that are call-shy. Try the sound of a cat meowing or a puppy whining and yipping. Those sounds make an urban coyotes mouth water.

 Re: Coyote Problem!!
For some reason I haven't seen them I used to on our place. Usually killed 5+ every year but not for the last 2 years. As for using a mouth call I have killed several coyotes turkey hunting by turning the yelper upside down and squealing on it like a dying squirrel or rabbit.

 Re: Coyote Problem!!
I knew about the hotdog soaked in antifreeze but a guy told me recently that a piece of foam soaked in bacon grease will kill them also without toxins. Foam from a car seat or a mattress works.

 Re: Coyote Problem!!
Old timer told me about the sponge and or foam soaked in bacon grease. The secret is to bait it up on a shark hook and chain and hang it from a stout tree limb.
The secret, he said, is to hang it just high enough that they have to jump to bite the sponge.

 Re: Coyote Problem!!
I've heard of that before too, that seems a little dark to me. I'd just as soon trap them or try to shoot them.
